Mallika Sherawat

Mallika Sherawat was born as Reema Lamba on January 24th 1981 in Rohtak, Haryana in a conservative Punjabi family. After graduating from Miranda House in Delhi, Mallika joined an airline as an airhostess and got married to pilot Karan Singh Gill. Mallika always wanted to pursue modeling and acting. Mallika divorced her husband and came to Mumbai to try her luck in Bollywood.
Ad man Prahlad Kakkar was the first to give her a break in Domino’s Pizza TV commercial in which she played a female Dracula. Mallika made her Bollywood debut in Vashu Bhagnani’s ‘Jeena Sirf Mere Liye’ is which she played a small character role. It was after this movie that she decided to change her name to Mallika and took her mom’s maiden name Sherawat as her dad had disowned.

e a hit. ‘Murder’ was Mallika’s second movie in which she continued with her bold image which again was a superhit. Mallika is also the first Indian actress to bag a role opposite International star Jackie Chan; in the movie ‘The Myth’ she played an Indian Princess with oomph.
Mallika is regarded as the sex-symbol and has won compliments for her curvaceous body from stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh. Mallika is also the brand ambassadress for 7-Up. Mallika always makes news for her bold statements. After a flying start in her career, Mallika could not live up to the expectations as she had a series of flops. Critics claim that Mallika is not an actress, but a Star.
